Running the Flock (beta) Web Browser

July 8, 2007 – 1:37 pm

I’m now running the Flock beta (.9) I really like this version much better than the released .7 version. The theme makes it much easier to deal with, and more acceptable to the eye. The one thing I’m finding most lacking is tab management. SessionSaver has been ported to Flock, which I have only used on Firefox, so I’ll probably just use that. If there is anyone reading this, and interested in Google Sync, I’m going to try installing this first. Google sync doesn’t have a Flock port, but that didn’t seem to stop the install of Better Gmail from lifehacker. All I got was a warning that it wasn’t built for Flock. Being the foolhardy geek I am, I installed anyway and figured any problems would be my own fault. So far no issues, though. So, long story short, I should be posting the results of my Google Sync install soon.

  2. I’ve installed Google Sync on Flock on two systems already. Both installed fine. There is a notice displayed during the install that the extension was intended for Firefox, but other than that, no issues. All of the settings I’d already had sync’d from Firefox came down to my Flock installation, cookies, passwords, bookmarks..the whole deal.
